Where this statement stands

No independent accessibility audit has been done on this site, and no WCAG conformance level is claimed anywhere on it. What follows is a description of how it is built, written by the people who built it.

Saying that plainly seemed better than claiming a standard nobody has measured against.

How the site is built

Ordinary semantic HTML throughout. Real landmarks, real headings and real links and buttons rather than clickable boxes:

• /One main heading per page, with sub-headings in order beneath it
• /Navigation, main content and footer are proper landmark regions, each named
• /Links are links and buttons are buttons, so they behave the way your browser and assistive software expect
• /Decorative artwork, including the hexagon texture and the background video, is hidden from screen readers rather than announced as an unnamed image

Motion

The site animates a lot. All of it stops if you have asked your operating system to reduce motion.

That preference is honoured in three separate places: the scroll reveal animations are never created at all, the smooth-scrolling wrapper is never started so scrolling stays native, and the scrolling tag row on the home page is stopped outright rather than left parked mid-slide. There is no auto-playing audio anywhere on the site, and no animation that flashes.

Keyboard use

Every link, button, form field and menu item can be reached and operated with a keyboard, because they are all standard elements. Nothing on this site is a keyboard trap and nothing depends on hovering.

Being straight about the weak point: form fields show focus as a change of border colour, and everywhere else you get whatever focus ring your browser draws. A single, clearly designed focus style applied consistently across the whole site has not been done yet. There is also no skip-to-content link, so reaching the main content with a keyboard means passing the navigation first.

Forms

The three forms on this site behave the way a form should:

• /Every field has a visible label that is properly attached to it
• /Required fields are marked, and validation happens when you submit rather than while you type
• /An error is announced to assistive software, attached to the field it belongs to, and written in plain words
• /What you have typed survives an error or a failed send. Nothing is cleared out from under you
• /There is no time limit on any form and no CAPTCHA to solve

Video

The video on this site is decorative. Every clip is silent, has no audio track at all, plays inline behind or beside the copy, and carries no information that is not also written in the text next to it.

Because there is no speech and no sound, there is nothing for captions or an audio description to carry. If a piece with dialogue is ever published on the site, it will need captions and this paragraph will need rewriting.

What has not been checked

The honest list, so you know what you are getting:

• /No independent audit, and no testing against WCAG
• /Colour contrast has not been formally measured. The site is light text on near-black, which usually helps, but usually is not a measurement
• /No structured testing with a screen reader, magnification or voice control
• /No consistent designed focus indicator, and no skip link, as described above
• /The site is published in English only, although the studio works in English and German

Telling us about a problem

If something here does not work for you, email the studio and say what happened and what you were using. A real person reads it, there is no ticket system to go through, and it will be treated as a defect rather than a feature request.
