Can An AI Film Show A Real Location?
We can generate shots that read as real, recognisable places. If the brief requires the actual site, the Every Market Calculator names that scenario as one for a traditional shoot. Put that need in the brief so we can discuss permissions, budget and the right route before you commit.
A short answer
Shot design is fixed on paper before any frame is made. We lock blocking, lensing and lighting on directed shot sheets so a sequence can read consistently across cuts, without the logistics and cost of moving a crew between locations. The treatment stage is the cheapest point to change creative direction, so decisions made early save time and money later.
There is a clear difference between a film that reads like a place and one that must be the actual site. The Every Market Calculator lists real, recognisable locations among the briefs where a traditional shoot is the better answer, and deciding which route to take changes the permissions, the budget and the delivery timeline you should plan for.
If the real site is required, say so in your brief and name any permissions, permits or private location fees you will supply. Doing this up front keeps the first conversations practical and avoids discovery during delivery. At that stage nothing is quoted, so the talks are about the brief rather than negotiation of costs.
When a shoot is the better answer
The Every Market Calculator sets out the briefs where filming is simply the right answer. It lists a named person on camera, live events, a physical product that must be shown exactly, approvals that demand actual footage, and real locations that must be the real place rather than a generated substitute.
Four things decide what a film costs: its finished length, how many languages it ships in, how many formats it must be delivered in, and whether anything has to be filmed for real. That last question is the single factor that most changes the route and the amount of resource a project needs.
Try the calculator to test both the traditional shoot column and the computing column before you contact us. The page shows published ranges for Dubai shoots alongside the computing and dubbing figures so you can see how versions add up. If you choose filming, list the permissions and fees to be budgeted so the estimate is useful from the start.
How we design a shot of a place
Shot design begins on paper. Every sequence is broken into directed shot sheets before a single frame is generated, with blocking, lensing and light decided in writing, shot by shot. What is on the shot sheet is what gets built, so the delivered frames follow the director's rules rather than improvisation.
In production each shot is built from structured prompts, using JSON driven prompt control rather than prose. Reference sheets hold characters, wardrobe and proportions steady across a run, so continuity is maintained. Dialogue is matched to picture with frame accurate lip sync, which makes additional language versions a pass through the same pipeline.
We produce versions and compare them side by side instead of committing on the day, and a change of location, product colour, time of day or language is another pass through the pipeline, not a new shoot. That lets you choose how faithful a generated shot needs to be to a real site without wasting the whole job. Finish and delivery include colour grading, logo lock ups and master delivery in the agreed formats.
What we have published about permissions
Our responsible production page sets out what is decided and what remains a working draft. Every project is directed by a human creative lead, and where practice is not yet written down we name the gap rather than pretending it has been closed. Policy evolves, and we are explicit about what is settled and what is not.
Where a project needs a real person's likeness or voice deliberately, documented permission should be in hand before production rather than after. We do not yet have a standard consent form, so this is agreed in writing per project and scoped into the contract at the start to avoid ambiguity later.
Third party platform licence terms can affect how a finished piece may be used, and where a specific platform licence matters it belongs in the project agreement. We do not yet apply automatic per file disclosure or embedded provenance metadata; whether a delivered master carries a visible AI label is currently the client's decision.
What you should ask for in writing
If a specific Dubai site is essential, put that need in the brief and name which permissions, permits or private location fees you will supply. A project is priced from the brief and confirmed in writing before anything starts, so listing these items up front avoids surprises and keeps the budget realistic.
Ask the project agreement to name any platform licence terms that could limit your use of a generated master, and to state who is responsible for clearing them. Also ask for the studio's current practice on supplied brand assets, such as logos and reference footage, to be written into the contract rather than treated as an unwritten habit.
If you need provenance metadata, embedded credentials or an on screen label to show the work was generated, ask for that in writing so it can be scoped and costed. If private location fees or specialist permits are possible, ask that they be listed as exclusions or contingencies so the budget is clear before delivery.
How to proceed without slowing the project
Start at the brief and set aspect ratios, formats and language requirements there. The method page is explicit that format and aspect ratio requirements are set at the brief, not discovered at delivery, and doing that at the start avoids late changes that add time and cost to the work and the schedule.
Use the Every Market Calculator to see how the published shoot ranges and the computing column behave as you add languages and formats. The tool runs in your browser, so nothing is sent while you try it, and every figure names the published source it came from to help you decide.
Send the brief or a short message so the director can read what is required, including audience, message, where it runs, and which formats and languages it ships in. The creative director reads it and replies within 24 hours. Nothing is committed and nothing is quoted at that stage; the price is set from the brief and confirmed in writing later.

Common questions
- Can you generate a recognisable Dubai skyline that will pass as the real city?
- Yes. Our shot design and generation process can produce footage that reads like a recognisable skyline because every shot is designed in writing before frames are made. The Every Market Calculator also names real, recognisable locations as a case where a traditional shoot is the better answer.
- Do I need permission from a property owner to use a generated shot of their building?
- The studio has not published a blanket rule for property owner permission. Where use rights or platform licence terms affect distribution, those belong in the project agreement, and any site specific permissions should be put in the brief and agreed in writing.
- Will you clear legal and regulatory issues for a Dubai location?
- The site does not present a legal clearance process. Review before publication is a craft and continuity check by the director, not a legal sign off, so regulatory certainty should be asked for and agreed in writing in the project contract.
- Can a generated film be delivered in multiple aspect ratios and languages?
- Yes. We deliver masters in the agreed aspect ratios and formats, and produce English and German versions with frame accurate lip sync so a campaign can run in more than one language without being recast and filmed again.
- How quickly can I find out whether I need a shoot?
- Send the brief form or a short message. Our creative director reads it and replies within 24 hours, and the first conversation will help you decide whether a shoot is required before anything is quoted.

Working on something like this?
These notes describe how the studio runs its own productions. If you have a piece that needs the same discipline, send the brief over. Nothing is committed and nothing is quoted at that stage.
