How Are Revisions Handled In An AI Film?
We handle changes as versioning, not day of fixes. We design every shot on a shot sheet, generate alternative passes, and you choose which version moves forward. The cheapest point to change is at the treatment. Some procedures are published and some are not, so ask for approval rules, signatories and the scope of any revision in writing before production begins.
Where revisions sit in the pipeline
We treat review and versioning as a distinct stage of our six stage pipeline. Versions are produced side by side and compared rather than committed to on the day. If you want to follow where a decision lands before anything is generated, read the method and you will see the stages and where approvals sit.
We build scope at the brief, fix the creative approach at treatment, and lock shot design with shot sheets. Changing direction at treatment costs a conversation rather than new passes once production starts. Plan changes early so you do not create extra generation passes that replicate the original build and add time and skilled hours.
Stage four runs without you unless the brief changes, because we generate from structured prompts and JSON driven prompt control. Blocking, lensing and lighting are decided in writing on shot sheets before a single frame is made. Later revisions are therefore a repeat of the production pass rather than a quick edit in post.
What counts as a revision
Not every request is the same. At VSNRY Motion a change of location, product colour, time of day or language is another pass through the pipeline, not a new shoot. That means some reworks are as substantial as the original build and must be scoped and priced as such.
How a request is treated is not a fixed rule on the website. We make work as versions that you compare side by side, and which changes count as minor edits or scope change is agreed per project. Pricing and whether a request is in or out of scope are confirmed in writing before anything starts.
If you think in languages or formats remember each is another pass. The Every Market Calculator shows how extra languages and aspect ratios add passes and skilled hours on the computing side. Use the calculator to read the published figures before you ask for changes so your brief reflects the versions you need.
How technical changes are performed
Technical rework follows the same directed steps as the first pass. Every shot is built from structured prompts, characters are kept steady with reference sheets, and dialogue is matched to picture with frame accurate lip sync. That approach helps a new pass maintain continuity across shots and formats.
A swap of dialogue, a wardrobe change or a daylight shift is another generation pass rather than a splice in edit. The site does not publish a per change hours or cost table. If you need a localised estimate for a specific technical revision, ask us in writing with precise shot references so it can be scoped.
The Every Market Calculator compares published shoot ranges against published computing and dubbing costs and shows the source for every figure. Its computing column leaves out our own design, direction, review, finishing and fee, so use it as an indicator of passes rather than as our price or a delivery promise.
Who approves versions and what is missing
On projects to date we have handled client approvals in conversation and clients choose which version goes forward. The responsible production page repeats that work is produced as versions compared side by side and that a client picks the version that moves the project ahead.
What is not yet documented is a written approval procedure. We have no standard clause naming sign off stages, who may approve on the client’s behalf, or what counts as final. For any project you should set named signatories and the criteria for finality in the contract before production begins.
Every deliverable is looked at by the director before it leaves the studio. That is a craft review for grading, logo lock ups and master delivery, not a legal or rights clearance. If you need regulatory or usage sign off, put that requirement into the project contract and name who carries it out.
Timing and cost expectations for rework
The Every Market Calculator shows an example computing lead time of brief to delivery three to seven working days and eleven to twenty one skilled hours behind it. Those published numbers are the computing and dubbing side only and explicitly exclude the studio’s design, direction and fee.
More widely, we price every project from the brief and confirm that figure in writing before anything starts. The site does not publish general revision rates or fixed turnaround guarantees. If you want a written estimate for a particular change, describe it precisely so a scope for the pass can be confirmed in writing before work proceeds.
If you want a quick read without contacting us, use the calculator to see how versions add up on the published ranges, and send the project brief form at the brief when you are ready. Include exact change, the shot number or timecode and the language so the written confirmation covers the revision you mean.
How to write a change request for the studio
Be precise. Tell us which shot or timecode to replace, which version it replaces, and whether it must match existing character or wardrobe reference sheets. Our shot sheets and reference sheets are the documents we use to keep continuity, so a precise change request lets us scope the new pass as closely as possible to the original.
If you supply assets, name their intended use and confirm their provenance. Brand assets you supply are used for that client’s project only and the studio does not train models on them or reuse them for other clients. How long we retain supplied files is agreed per project rather than set as a standard rule.
Finally, ask for three things in writing: who may approve the change, the turnaround for the pass, and the fee or hourly rate if the request is out of scope. Start the revision conversation by sending the brief so our creative director can reply within 24 hours.

Common questions
- When is the cheapest point to request a change?
- At the treatment stage. The creative approach is agreed there before any shot design begins, so a change of direction at that point usually costs a conversation rather than another production pass.
- Does asking for another language count as a revision?
- Yes. Each language version is another pass because we produce frame accurate lip sync rather than recast and reshoot. Extra languages therefore add time and cost and should be set at the brief stage.
- Can you make a tall or square cut from the wide master?
- We plan formats at the brief and compose for each frame. The studio delivers masters in the aspect ratios agreed at the start rather than discovering format needs at delivery.
- Who signs off the final master?
- There is no published, standard approval procedure on the site. Historically sign off has been handled in conversation, so you should put named signatories and what counts as final into the project contract.
- Will you reuse my supplied logos or footage on other projects?
- Brand assets a client supplies are used for that client’s project. The studio says it does not train models on them and does not reuse them on another client's work, while retention is agreed per project.

Working on something like this?
These notes describe how the studio runs its own productions. If you have a piece that needs the same discipline, send the brief over. Nothing is committed and nothing is quoted at that stage.
